Kaitlyn Finn, LMSW

Therapist

Pronouns: she/her/hers

We all have inherent worth and the capability to self-help. Unfortunately, for many of us, those concepts get twisted and confusing over the course of our lives and varied experiences. Together, we can use a holistic approach that empowers you to become your desired version of yourself and strengthens what already exists within you.

About Kaitlyn

As a licensed therapist who self-identifies as “complex”, I see and honor the layered experiences and multi-faceted identities of others. I have awareness of my own contextual placement in both privilege and oppression and keep top of mind the importance of an intersectionality lens. Above all, I strive to use empathy, openness, and humor to create a safe space for you to share about yourself and walk with you through your healing.

Working with Kaitlyn

I work from a collaborative and adaptive approach that allows for open communication about the therapeutic relationship and its processes. Since you are the expert of your own experience, you deserve individualized care and the ability to feel seen, heard, and deeply understood in the room. While I may have ideas about what we delve into or how we proceed clinically, I will check in with you regarding your safety, comfort, and willingness first. With the importance of connection for healing in mind, we will work together to create a partnership that feels casual yet purposeful so that you can reach your goals.

Specialty

I have experience working with individuals of trans, queer, and gender-expansive identities/experiences who face mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizoaffective disorder. I also have a passion for working with those concerned with sexual functioning, whether stemming from trauma, body image, or a primary mental health concern. When addressing body image, I am rooted in a Health At Every Size approach and am familiar with the body liberation movement as a whole.
