Chenwei Lin, LCAT-LP
Psychologist & Art Therapist
Pronouns: she/her/hers
People have the inherent power to transform their lives — but meaningful change often requires courage, honesty, and a willingness to face what feels uncomfortable. Healing can be daunting, but you don’t have to walk in the darkness alone -- I will walk with you and hear you as you awaken that power within you. I will walk beside you — not only to support you, but also to gently challenge you when needed. I see strengths in every person, and I help clients use those strengths to confront patterns, heal wounds, and intentionally create a life aligned with their values and purpose. Growth is possible when compassion and accountability meet.
About Chenwei
I am a bilingual art therapist offering counseling and art therapy in Mandarin and English. I practice cultural humility — continuously examining my own cultural lens while actively learning about yours. I believe therapy works best when we are both engaged and curious. I am conversational and I value open dialogue, including conversations about what is and isn’t working in our work together.
Working with Chenwei
My core values are authenticity, compassion, creativity, and openness — and also courage. My approach is relational and client-centered, while still being active and engaged. I won’t simply sit back; I will reflect patterns I notice, ask meaningful questions, and invite you to stretch beyond familiar comfort zones. Together, we will create a space that is safe and growth-oriented. You can expect warmth and encouragement, along with honest feedback and thoughtful challenges when they serve your goals. Real change often requires experimenting with new ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving.
As an art therapist, I integrate creative expression as a powerful tool for insight and transformation. Art can reveal what words cannot. I may invite you to explore with drawing, writing, or other media — not for artistic skill, but for deeper self-understanding. You always have choice in how you participate, and I encourage you to take an active role in shaping our work.
Our space is non-judgmental — and also dynamic, intentional, and growth-driven.
Specialty
I specialized in complex trauma, self-esteem, relationships, relationship conflict, sexuality, depression, anxiety, interpersonal trauma, disordered eating, body image, cultural adaptation, and cultural identities.
