Alexandra Askenazi Marcus, LMHC

Therapist & Clinical Supervisor

Pronouns: she/her/hers/ella

Opening up and being vulnerable can be a frightening experience. I see vulnerability as an opportunity to create deeper connections both in therapy and with outside relationships, and to gain new perspectives that can lead to growth and change. In my practice, I provide a space for your voice to be heard, learned from, and valued. I aim to accompany you throughout this challenging yet rewarding experience where you can explore your values, goals, and patterns that both serve and no longer serve you. Together we will build up your existing resources and competencies so you can become your most empowered self.

About Alexandra

I am a bilingual therapist who has experience providing therapy in both English and Spanish. As a therapist, I am affirming, empathetic, authentic, and collaborative. Given that you are the expert of your own life, I will be here to support you throughout this therapeutic journey. I believe in the importance of the mind-body connection to heal, nurture and find a state of physical and mental wellness. We can work on helping you find balance, self-acceptance, and life satisfaction.

Working with Alexandra

My therapeutic approach is eclectic and I use an intersectional feminist, trauma-informed, and ecological perspective when working with you to create a plan that is informed by your goals and purpose. In other words, my interventions move beyond an exclusive focus on you as an individual to identifying how your environment and broader cultural and sociopolitical dynamics may impact your well-being.

At G&STC, I offer Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy as well as group therapy to support you on your therapeutic journey. EMDR is an evidence-based approach designed to help you process and heal from trauma, anxiety, and other distressing life events. Together, we work to reprocess painful memories, reducing their emotional impact and empowering you to move forward with greater resilience and peace. In group therapy, you’ll have the chance to connect with others facing similar challenges, share your experiences, and gain new perspectives. This supportive community can foster a sense of belonging and mutual support, which can be deeply empowering as you navigate your healing process.

Overall, I strive to offer a safe, humorous, genuine, and empathetic environment that allows you to discover yourself, grow and engage in ways that align with your intuition and needs.
