The Gender  & Sexuality Therapy Center is a group private practice offering compassionate and knowledgable psychotherapy for adolescents, adults, partnerships and families in Manhattan.

G&STC specializes in gender, sex and sexuality with specific expertise regarding working with LGBTQ+ folks, kink/BDSM, fetish sexualities, sex workers and sexual related issues such as sexual anxiety, sexual pain, sexual functioning, and sexual compulsive behavior.

We provide a range of services, including psychotherapy, supervision, workshops, and consultation.

  • Phone consultations

  • Provides psychotherapy services to a caseload minimum of 21-28 clients, including individuals, couples, partnerships with 3+ people, and families

  • Maintains case notes, treatment plans, and other required documentation

  • Provide group therapy

  • Participates in weekly specialized individual and group clinical supervision, administrative meetings, and other relevant meetings

  • Assists in creation and implementation of G&STC workshops, trainings and seminars

  • Marketing tasks for self and G&STC

Requirements (Please read carefully and apply only if you meet all listed):

  • Possess an LMSW, LCSW or LCSW-R and be licensed in New York

  • Commit to a minimum of 3 years with G&STC

  • Education, training, and demonstrated success in implementing modalities, such as CBT, IFS, mindfulness treatments, trauma-informed practices, somatic treatments, and psychodynamic psychotherapy

  • Feel comfortable networking and marketing under the guidance of your supervisor

  • Feel comfortable collecting and discussing fees with clients under the guidance of your supervisor

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills

  • Be available and willing to see clients on at least 1 weekend day, early mornings and evenings

  • At least two years of experience in assessment, treatment planning, and providing psychotherapy

  • At least 2 years of experience in providing individual, couples, multiple partner relationships and/or family therapy

  • At least 2 years of experience in providing therapy to LGBTQ+, kinky, and non-monogamous individuals

  • At least 1 year of experience in providing therapy for sexual related issues such as sexual anxiety, sexual functioning, sexual pain compulsive sexual behaviors

  • Must have a high level of competence with gender, sex and sexuality with specific expertise regarding all or some of the follow: working with lgbtq+ folks, alt sexualities, and sexual related issues such as sexual anxiety, sexual functioning, sexual compulsive behavior, sexual discomfort and pain, etc.

  • Must be highly responsive to email communication, organized, and able to submit progress notes and out of network submission accurately and in a timely manner and in accordance of G&STC policies
