About Therapists

Jesse Kahn

I am a licensed clinical social worker with postgraduate training in psychodynamic psychotherapy and AASECT certified sex therapy (if that doesn't mean anything to you, I'm happy to elaborate!). In my practice, you'll find an affirming, interactive, and knowledgable space. I believe safe exploration of your concerns, fears, shame, and desires is crucial in our work together. I have a caring approach that includes empathic listening and active collaboration. Also, in our work together you will gain a deeper understanding of yourself, identify your personal strengths, address patterns you wish to change, and learn tools to reach and sustain your goals. The aim of my practice is to guide you in creating a more peaceful and fulfilling life unique to you. I have particularly competent working topics including: gender, sexuality, poly/non-monogamy, fetishes, kink, BDSM, sexual functioning, sexual anxiety, relationship conflict, parents with LGBTQ identified or questioning children, depression, anxiety, survivors of violence, addiction, and HIV/AIDS.

Karalyn Violeta

Are you looking for a safe and affirming environment to explore your hopes, wishes, and struggles? Together, we can develop strategies to relieve anxiety and distress, discover more effective coping skills, and empower you to work toward greater satisfaction in your life and relationships. I welcome each client into treatment with warmth and a non-judgmental approach, and will work with you to uncover your goals, strengths, and also your "stuck points." My training is in both psychodynamic psychotherapy and evidence-based methods such as cognitive behavioral, cognitive processing, and mindfulness-based therapies. I take a holistic and humanistic approach, relating to you as a unique individual with your own experiences, desires, and history. My style is relational and grounded in attachment and object-relational theories. I endeavor to seamlessly blend various therapeutic modalities to create a treatment approach that works for you.

I have specialized training and expertise in working with transgender, gender diverse, and queer youth and adults, and I write letters of support for those who need access to gender-affirming medical care.
